In plain language: what this site is and isn't, the terms of using it, and what it does with data.

Disclaimer

This is a reference, not an authority. Optic Mounting compiles fitment data from manufacturer documentation and plate-maker fitment charts. Footprints, plate numbers and slide cuts change between generations, sometimes under the same model name. Confirm against the current manuals from your pistol, optic and plate makers before you buy or install anything.

Entries can be wrong or incomplete. Where published data is thin or sources disagree, the entry gets a verify flag instead of a guess, but an unflagged entry isn't a guarantee either. Prices are approximate street-price bands, not quotes.

Mounting an optic is gunsmithing. Confirm the firearm is unloaded before any work on the slide. Stay within your competence and use a qualified gunsmith when a job is past it. Screw length depends on your exact plate and optic stack, and a screw that's too long can bottom out on the slide or reach the striker channel. That's why this site doesn't publish screw lengths.

No warranty; use at your own risk. Everything here is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, Optic Mounting is not liable for damage to a firearm, optic or other property, for injury, for lost time, or for money spent on parts that don't fit.

Legal compliance is yours. Laws on modifying firearms vary by country, state and locality. Nothing here is legal advice.

Trademarks. Product names are used for identification only. Optic Mounting is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any firearm, optic or accessory maker. All trademarks are the property of their respective owners.

Terms of use

Using this site means accepting the disclaimer above. Use it freely for your own reference: look things up, print a build sheet, share a link.

The compatibility data, writing and page designs are the work of Optic Mounting. Please don't scrape the site or republish the dataset as your own; if you want to use it in something, ask. Automated crawling beyond ordinary search-engine indexing is not permitted.

If you send a correction, we'll check it and, if a source backs it up, add it to the data. Sending one doesn't make you responsible for anything, doesn't sign away your own work, and doesn't give you a claim on the dataset. We can't promise to use it, to use it as written, or to credit you by name unless you ask. Don't send anything confidential or anything you aren't free to share.

If you post a comment, you're letting us show it on this site, with the name you gave. Keep it on topic and civil, and leave out anyone's personal details, including your own. We read every comment first and may decline one, or take one down later, without giving a reason. We don't edit what you wrote: a comment goes up as written or not at all. A comment is its writer's view, not ours, and nothing in one changes the data; a correction still needs a source.

The site may be wrong, may change, and may go away. There's no uptime commitment and no promise that any page will stay up.

Outbound links go to manufacturers and retailers we don't control. We aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, prices, or what they do with your data.

Privacy

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages get used. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser to do it, and Cloudflare says it doesn't fingerprint visitors. What it reports to us is aggregate: which pages were read, the page that sent you, your country, browser and device type, and how fast pages loaded. It doesn't build a profile of you or follow you across sites, and we can't see who you are. Cloudflare, our host, runs it under its own privacy terms, and its script loads on every page.

This site also uses Google Analytics to measure how pages are used. Its script loads on every page and sets first-party cookies to tell one visit from the next. Google receives the pages you view, the page that sent you, your approximate location and your browser and device details, and processes them under its own privacy policy. You can block it with your browser's tracking protection or Google's opt-out add-on.

Two things are stored in your browser, and neither is sent anywhere: any setups you save in the fit checker, in your browser's local storage (along with a note that you closed the "add to home screen" tip, if you did); and copies of the fit checker and the pages you've read, kept so they open without a connection. Clearing your site data removes both.

What a form on this site collects. Only what you type: the kind of message, the pistol and optic if you name them, a source link if you add one, your message, the page you came from, and your email address if you give one. It's emailed to an inbox and nowhere else. The contact form keeps no database, account or mailing list, and your address is only used to reply. Correction reports are kept so the data stays traceable to its source; everything else is deleted once it's dealt with. Email is optional. The fit checker's Build tab has a second form, "send this build sheet to us", that works the same way and also sends the build sheet.

The spam check on these forms is Cloudflare Turnstile. It checks signals from your browser to tell you from a script, and sets no tracking cookie and no cross-site identifier. Cloudflare runs the check as our provider, under its own privacy terms. It loads only on the contact page and the fit checker's Build tab, and only those two pages run the spam check.

What a comment stores. Comments are different from the forms above: they're meant to be public, so they're kept. A comment is stored in a database run by Cloudflare, our host, with the name you give (or "Anonymous"), what you wrote and the date. Nothing is shown until someone has read it and approved it; once approved, the name, the comment and the date appear on the contact page for anyone to see. An email address, if you give one, is stored with the comment, never shown, and used only to answer you. To limit spam we also store the country Cloudflare reports for your connection and a scrambled, one-way code made from your IP address, never the address itself; the code is cleared after two days. Comments that aren't published are deleted within 30 days. To have a published comment taken down, ask through the contact page.

The fonts are served from this site, so no font service sees your visit. The host keeps standard server logs.

Advertising and affiliate links. This site shows ads, and the ad network may set cookies or use identifiers to serve and measure them, under its own privacy policy.
